2nd Semester Final Project! Album Cover!
This is the last project of the year! I decided to make something that really means something to me. In december of 2022 I had really got into k-pop and I wanted to make a project around one of my favorite girl groups. When I started this project I really wanted it to be something original with some details of the group's ideas. The things I have added from my own Ideas is a rainbow border on the frontside. Then on the back a pop out type thing with a track list from their new album. I do plan on naming the album Unforgiven after their new album because it is really cool. I hope this turns out how I like it. The most challenging part will be the rainbow border. I need to make a gradient from one color to another but I am just learning how to but I am confident that I will be able to do it.
Think Outside the Box!
Think Outside the Box was this project's theme. It required you to choose a 2x2 square out of a magazine and try to make an art piece using it. I originally had a different idea as you can see in the first picture. I chose to scrap it and try something more achievable. I am glad I did because I love the new Idea I went for. I chose to do a room with an easel and window. I love the contrast of the bright red curtains to the darker surroundings. The split wall was another Idea I love. Also all the wooden tones and colors in it makes it look amazing. 10/10 won't do it again. Enjoyed it though.
Perspective! 1,2,3 point!
This was a small practice project where we learned 1,2,3 point perspective. Our assignment was to draw 5 boxes using the 3 perspectives. This I found easy. It was a little rough on the 3 point because of the angles but I still made it work. I also had to make a house with a roof. That was hard to do because of the roof but I made it work.
Dream Homes!
I had so much fun with this project. I loved shading, coloring, and just making a house. This was the project where we made our dreams homes. I thought it would be hard to do with perspective but for me I found it actually fun. I will say adding color made it a little less fun. That is only because I am not good at blending colored pencils together. I ended up with a house located in New Mexico. The style I went for was a common style found in New Mexico. I think that I did an okay job at making it look like a house there but I would change some things about it. Mainly the roof shape. I wish the top was flat and not a point. I also wish I could do more to the driveway and add more water into the scenery. This project was fun overall. This is my favorite project at the moment.
Abstract Small Project!
This is a small painting project which included making an Abstract Art piece. You could use any medium or mix mediums! I decided to do colored pencil and crayon! I think it was an okay project I wish i did more but what is done is done! I wish I could redo the pink tint I did. Also add more color and just over all add more!
1st Second Semester Project! Clay Alebrijes!
This was a huge project! The first part was making body out of clay. Sorry but i HATED that. I hated how it dried out my hands and how hard it was to make the body because it would just want to roll! It was okay to deal with but GOD I WISH IT WOULDN'T DRY OUT MY HANDS! That's it though I found it fun to work with the clay! The texture was weird but usable. Now moving on to the painting. WOW was that something. It was kind of annoying but fun! I wish wish wish I could redo the paint and make it look 100% different. The contrast of the colors go okay together but I would definitely do something else maybe more harsh because she is a Queen! I would add reds, blacks, dark browns, and dark dark green! I guess I am tu ambitious for my own good!
Second Semester! <3
1st Semester Final Project! Water Colors.
It is coming to the end of 1st semester! This is my final art project. I chose to do a watercolor painting! I will have to say it did not turn out how I wanted at first but I do like how it looks. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the contrast between the background ocean and the up close waterfall! The ocean in the back is my favorite part of it! I also like how the colors in the mountain gradiate from a darker brown to a lighter brown. The floating island is most definitely my least favorite part of the painting! It in my opinion does not contrast well with the other objects in the painting. How I see it is that the things in the foreground look much much better and the things in the background do not compare to it. The mediums I used were water colors and I'm glad that I got a little better at watercoloring by doing this.
Self Portrait!
This was the most challenging project yet! I am not the best at drawing self portraits, but my teacher helped me a lot with the placement of stuff. I Love the value in the hair and the contrast of the darker hair and lighter facial features! The shape of the nose was the hardest thing to do but I still managed to work it out. I am so glad this wasn't as bad as I had thought. I wish I could change the shading of some of it to be darker in places and have changed some symbols but I still think that I did good!
Impressionism Painting!
This was my first impression painting. I kinda enjoyed it. The hardest part was the bench. The value was difficult and using perspective was also a change. I'm not a fan of painting but this was the first time I have ever done one in the style. The color and shape of everything I do like a lot and think this is my best painting so far. Even though I am not a fan of painting I still think this is the best I could have got at my level of painting skills. If I could go back and tell my past self something about this painting I would have said "STICK TO THE EXAMPLE AND TAKE YOUR TIME ON THIS!" I wish I could say that but what is done is done and I still think that this is pretty good!
Close Up Value Drawing!
I have decided to work on this image below this text. I first started on the branch because I thought It would be the easiest to do. The value on the branch and ice hanging down was complicated . I have never worked on something like this before so I had a hard time on this. But the progress was fast and I enjoyed working on something hard. I love the shading on it though and I think it could be one of my best pieces. This project was hard but I had fun with the challenge. Still I am most likely do something easier next time.
First Project! Art Sketchbook!
This is my first project for this class! This was a challenging project because of our teacher being out because of the cold! I did manage to do it and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! The most challenging thing was the signatures I kept forgetting about how many pieces of paper we needed! The thing I hate the most about it is the spine. The way it looks with the string just makes me feel a different way! The cover is also not the best due to how my glue I used to stick it on there! I will so over all this was a fun project and I enjoyed it!
